Calgary, Alberta, Canada
October 15-16, 2007
The fourth meeting of the CSA Z462 Technical Committee was held at the downtown Marriot Hotel in Calgary, Alberta on October 15-16, 2007. Over fifty (50) people attended the meetings, there were at least 10 guests in attendance.
Dave Shanahan the CSA Project Manager for the development of this standard, and Mike Doherty, Chair of CSA Z462 ran very efficient meetings and a lot was accomplished. Some of the highlights of the meetings were:
- Review of the Scope of CSA Z462.
- NFPA 70E ROC Meeting debrief and impact discussion.
- Report on internal and external communications activities.
- A report from all eight (8) Working Groups of the work that had been accomplished since the third meeting in June.
Joe Sheehan, the NFPA 70E Staff Liason was in attendance at the meeting, the CSA Z462 Technical Committee is working closely with NFPA, great collaboration is occurring.
Progress is been made in moving to final text for the official first draft of CSA Z462 with plans to make the document available for public stakeholder review and comment, most likely in the 2nd quarter of 2008. This public stakeholder review process will take 60 days. All comments received will be reviewed by the CSA Z462 Technical Committee. Following execution of this process, the FINAL version of CSA Z462 will be put forward to CSA for final review and approval before been issued. It is anticipated that CSA Z462 will be issued in late 2008 or early 2009.
The next meeting of the CSA Z462 Technical Committee will follow the February 22, 2008 release of the ROC version of NFPA 70E.
