A man working in a southern Alberta hamlet was electrocuted when he touched a truck that had come into contact with power lines.
Police and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety are investigating the incident that happened Monday evening in New Dayton, about 300 kilometres southeast of Calgary, said the RCMP Tuesday.
A four-man work crew was operating an overhead rig when a boom came into contact with power lines overhead, said police.
One male worker, 33, touched the truck and fell to the ground. His co-workers attempted CPR until an ambulance arrived, but he could not be resuscitated.
The man was from Brooks, Alberta, but his family has requested that his name be withheld.
